Mini Key Fob Replacement
Key fobs today do much more than simply unlock and start the car. They also control the sunroof and windows. They can be expensive to replace in the event you lose them or damage them.
Fortunately, it's possible to save money by replacing the fob battery on your own. Here's how: Locate a notch on the key fob and then insert your tool.
Battery
Modern key fobs are incredibly convenient and functional, but they require a little maintenance to keep them working properly. Over time the battery inside your fob will lose power and you'll have to replace it. If your car is more difficult to start or the buttons stop working, you'll know that it's time to replace the battery.
Change the battery inside your key fob is fairly simple. First set the key fob on a flat surface, and press the metal button until it pops out. Find the seam that joins the lid to the base of the fob, then employ an incredibly small screwdriver (or sometimes even your fingernail) to pull the two halves in a gentle manner.
Then, lift the clips that hold the battery and then remove it. If your key fob has slots to hold the battery and replace it, you can do so by inserting a new one. Be sure to insert the new battery in the correct orientation and also in the plus and minus.
You will need a CR2032 3V coin-cell battery that can be found in a majority of stores that sell batteries or online. The battery usually appears like a small disc, with an X and Y symbol printed on it. Be careful when handling the battery because it could leak when you use your hands with dirt. The leaking can damage the circuit board making it less likely to work properly in the future.

You can secure yourself by placing your key fob in an enclosed case (also known as Faraday pouches) which restricts the distance that frequencies released by the fob are transmitted. These pouches are available at many auto parts stores for less than PS10.
Some systems also allow you to unlock your car without pressing an button. The vehicle will lock or unlock automatically when you get close to the door's handle as long as the key is in the fob and within the range of a car's sensor.
